Why this is so similar to Troels Ellam FLEX 3W?
Because Troels gave me inspiration. He is doing great work for DIY community.
However I cannot really just make copy-paste. So I added my flavour to the design.
Speaker selection:
Tweeter is revelator which brought my attention due to:
- high sensitivity
- great design including SD2 motor, neo magnet
- linear SPL up to 30kHz including great directivity up to 16kHz (I do not need more as I will not hear it 🙂 )
Midwoofer
This was a kind of compromise. The better option is 15M, however first I bought just a tweeter and midwoofer. Later I bought a 22W bass. So I started having 2 way monitors. They performed great.
Why? It is pure non coated paper (coating is always coloring the sound). It is 8Ohm which is good for xover. It has a decent 86dB sensitivity. As midwoofer it will be 3db boosted.
Woofer
The best from its class. Paper cone, strong magnet, 8Ohm.

IMPEDANCE
Great results for every amplifier. Resonance (fs) at 45Hz as designed.
